Steve Smith

Commercial Director


Steve has worked in Fresca Group companies since 1997 gaining a comprehensive understanding of international supply chains. 


I am very lucky to have travelled extensively throughout my career in fresh produce, meeting some truly inspiring people and businesses along the way.

Working at Fresh Clear has strengthened old relationships and provided the opportunity to build new ones, it is very rewarding to be able to represent innovative importers and exporters from around the world.

Stephen Persaud

Group Customs

Compliance Manager


Stephen has been a customs broker since 2005, before joining Fresh Clear he worked for an international freight forwarder and then a large UK retailer managing non-food imports.


I hold a level 5 diploma in World Customs Compliance & Regulations and will shortly finish my BSc Hons. degree course in Professional Management Practice specialising in International & Supply Chain Management. As Compliance Manager I am responsible for our interactions with the customs authorities, I also enjoy helping our customers to determine the most efficient way to clear their goods.

Michelle Disbray

Financial Controller


Michelle is a fully qualified ACCA professional with more than 15 years post qualification experience.


I started my career in general practice and subsequently moved on to finance manager and controller roles within the financial services, healthcare and customs clearance sectors.

I manage our busy team of brokers and the finance function at Fresh Clear, also taking care of ongoing training and development for our dedicated team.

Gary Howell

Import Administrator


Gary has over 20 years of administration and coordinator experience gained from a career that spanned recruitment and finance before settling in fresh produce. 

I joined the company two years ago and now cover the complex and fast-paced transport areas of the business. I organise transport and logistics for goods from the port according to the requirements of our customers, making sure goods are delivered quickly and efficiently. I’ve got great relationships with our haulier partners and have a broad knowledge of duty and customs systems. I also support our Import co-ordinators by collating and processing the information required to make customs and plant health declarations.

John Kelly

Import Coordinator


Ela Daci

Accounts Assistant


Ela is an experienced bookkeeper with a wide range of accounting skills gained over 14 years of practice not only in the fresh produce sector, but in printing and design as well as the recruitment industry.

After joining the finance team here in 2015, I now support the Fresh Clear Customs & Freight team with day to day financial transactions. My role covers many aspects, from accounts payable & receivable to credit control, month end tasks and cash flow. I’m fluent in both Polish and English which can be really helpful in effective communication with some of our clients.

John has amassed almost 50 years of experience, almost entirely in the world of customs clearance and logistics in the fresh produce industry.


I joined our group of companies 27 years ago to help manage the logistics of rail, road and sea operations. I’ve been with Fresh Clear from the start and helped to shape the systems and processes we have in place today. There are many different challenges in my role and no two days are the same. I enjoy liaising with both customers and the authorities, making sure I have the correct information to clear goods efficiently.

Amy Eveleigh

Sales Administrator


Megan Jones

Import Coordinator 

Amy worked in the banking and finance industry for 12 years before joining Fresh Clear as a Sales Administrator in 2019.

I’ve always worked in roles that have combined administration with customer relations. I’m really organised and care about the detail. I keep our customers up to date with all the information they need, dealing with any queries quickly and efficiently. I also assist our Imports Coordinators with their duties; this compliments my finance responsibilities and gives me a broader understanding of our customers’ requirements. The diverse and fast paced nature of my role at Fresh Clear is very rewarding and it’s good to know we are providing an essential service to our clients.

Megan is a customs clearance agent with Fresh Clear. Her main role is to process PEACH applications and submit customs entries for our customers.

I previously gained experience working for a company that exported dried foods internationally and then worked as a transport coordinator for a company that delivered materials to London and around the UK. I have recently completed several short training courses with the Institute of Export and will be studying for a Certificate in Customs Compliance with the UK Customs Academy. I look forward to expanding my knowledge in the field and to supporting new clients trading with the EU, especially those that are unfamiliar with the documents and processes required to clear customs.
